OceanaGold announces first shipment of copper-gold concentrate

OceanaGold Corp. (TSX: T.OGC, Stock Forum) announced the first shipment of the Didipio concentrate from the San Fernando port in the Philippines.

The Didipio mine, located in Luzon, began producing copper concentrate in Dec. 2012. The first cash receipt for Didipio concentrate is due mid April.

According to the OceanaGold press release, the first shipment of approximately 5,000 dry tonnes of copper-gold concentrate is now en route to Hibi, Japan.

The next 5,000 tonne shipment is expected in late April 2013.

OceanaGold is a significant multinational gold producer with projects located on the South Island of New Zealand and in the Philippines.

On Tuesday, OceanaGold was trading at $2.52 a share. The company had a market cap of $739.7 million, based on 293.5 million shares outstanding. The 52-week high and low was $3.70 and $1.70 respectively.
