TomaGold down 18.4% despite drilling results: Canadian market movers

On Monday, the top TSX mover was Eastern Platinum Ltd. (TSX: T.ELR, Stock Forum). It fell 9% and was trading at $0.10 on volume of 9.2 million shares.

On April 19, the platinum group metal producer reported the suspension of funding for the Crocodile River Mine due to the continuing negative outlook in the global economic environment, the sustained weakness in PGM pricing and the current operating environment in South Africa.

Air Canada (TSX: T.AC.B, Stock Forum) was the second most active stock on the TSX. The stock was down 12.7% and trading at $2.62 on volume of 4 million.

Today the airline reported a net loss of approximately $260 million in the first quarter of 2013 versus a net loss of $274 million in the first quarter of 2012.

Aurcana Corp. (TSX: V.AUN, Stock Forum) was the volume leader on the TSX Venture Exchange. It was up 6.7% and was trading at $0.475 on volume of 2.9 million.

On April 12, the junior mining company said the TSX Venture Exchange accepted notice of the consolidation of the company's common shares on a basis of eight pre-consolidated common shares for each one post-consolidation common share effective at the opening of market Tuesday, April 30, 2013.

The second most active stock on the TSX Venture was TomaGold Corp. (TSX: V.LOT, Stock Forum) It slumped 18.4% and was trading at $0.155 after 1.2 million shares changed hands.

Today the mining exploration company announced the results of holes M-13-102 to M-13-107 of the 5,000-metre drilling program on the Monster Lake property, located 44 kilometres southwest of Chibougamau, Quebec.

The highlight was 4.8 metres grading 37.1 grams per tonne gold in hole M-13-106.
