RMP Energy up on Q1 results: Canadian market movers

On Tuesday, the top TSX mover was RMP Energy Inc. (TSX: T.RMP, Stock Forum). The stock gained 3.8% and was trading at $4.66 on volume of 6.9 million.

After the bell on April 13, the junior oil and gas company reported its financial and operating results for the first quarter of 2013. For the three months ended March 31, 2013, RMP reported funds from operations of $20.1 million or $0.19 per basic share on revenue of $32.6 million and record-setting average daily production of 6,727 barrels of oil equivalent (weighted 55% light oil and natural gas liquids).

BlackBerry (TSX: T.BB, Stock Forum) was the second most active stock on the TSX. It fell 3% and was trading at $15.56 on volume of 5 million shares.

Today, the BlackBerry maker announced the beta launch of BBM Channels, a new social engagement platform within BBM that will allow people to connect with the businesses, brands, celebrities and groups they are passionate about.

Corsa Coal Corp. (TSX: V.CSO, Stock Forum) was the volume leader on the TSX Venture Exchange. It lost 5.6% and was trading at $0.085 on volume of 10 million.

The coal mining, processing and selling company had no related news to explain the high volume in trading.

The second most active stock on the TSX Venture was Eagle Hill Exploration Corp. (TSX: V.EAG, Stock Forum). It rose 13% and was trading at $0.085 after 2.8 million shares changed hands.

Today, the precious metals explorer announce high-grade gold results from its winter 2013 drill program at the Windfall Lake gold deposit in Northwestern Quebec. The new results include over 12.4 meters of 288.5 grams per tonne gold and over 5.5 meters grading 22.1 grams per tonne gold both located in the Main Zone.
