Today, the transportation equipment manufacturer confirmed that, after months of negotiations, the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment signed a firm purchase agreement for one
Bombardier 415 amphibious aircraft at a ceremony in Madrid, Spain on October 17, 2013. Based on the list price, the contract is valued at approximately $37 million USD and includes spares, engineering support services and product enhancements. Delivery of the aircraft is expected in late November 2013.
Carpathian Gold Inc. (
TSX: T.CPN,
Stock Forum) was the second most active stock on the TSX. It soared 33% and was trading at $0.08 on volume of 4.4 million shares.
Today, the exploration and development company announced the continued support by Macquarie Bank Ltd. for the RDM gold project in Brazil. The corporations subsidiary, Mineração Riacho dos Machados Ltda. (MRDM), which owns and operates the project, has entered into an agreement with Macquarie to provide additional debt financing for the project while strategic alternatives for the corporation and MRDM are being. While this additional debt funding will be at Macquarie's discretion, the corporation is pleased to receive this support in order to continue the advancement of the project.
Southern Hemisphere Mining Ltd. (
TSX: V.SH,
Stock Forum) was the volume leader on the TSX Venture Exchange. It rose 16.7% and was trading at $0.035 on volume of 2.9 million.

On October 15, the oil and gas company provided a production update for the Umusadege field, located in Nigeria, Africa. Umusadege field production during September 2013 averaged 8,293 barrels of oil per day. Umusadege field downtime during September 2013 was approximately 8.5 days due mainly to maintenance and repairs on the export pipeline performed by the pipeline operator, Nigerian Agip Oil Company Ltd. (NAOC). The average field production based on producing days was 11,674 barrels of oil per day in September 2013.
