Arris Holdings (CNSX:AAF,StockForum), a Surrey BC-based investment firm engaged in the exploration and development of its equity portfolio through new investment opportunities in targeted sectors, announced today that the company had appointed two hemp industry experts, Dr. Reid Jilek and Donald Steinberg as new directors to the board of its wholly-owned US subsidiary, Global Hemp Group.

Global Hemp is intended to explore opportunities as they appear in the burgeoning hemp industry in the US. With executives expecting “double-digit” growth in the sector over the next 3 to 5 years, both Arris and Global Hemp will be engaged in capitalizing on business opportunities as they develop in the emerging market.

According to the news release, Donald Steinberg is a serial entrepreneur beginning in the 1980's as the developer of stock option programs. From these beginnings, he wended his way through to floor trader management on multiple option exchanges, giving him a intimately-informed insight into the public marketplace and the management of publicly traded companies.

Mr. Steinberg also founded the first publicly traded medial marijuana company in the US stock market, Medical Marijuana. It is expected that his sales and marketing experience within the sector will prove to be invaluable in the execution of Global Hemp's proactive mandate.

Donald commented on the appointment, “I look forward to working with the Global Hemp Group team, helping guide the Company as it moves ahead with its ambitious plans into this emerging industry.”

Dr. Reid Jilek holds advanced degrees in medical, life science and engineering disciplines. With over forty papers published in national and international peer-reviewed journals, Dr. Jilek has also been a Presidential Fellow and White House Fellow Candidate.

Dr. Jilek was also a founding member of the Fredrick Research Center and the Asia Pacific Alliance Company, and a board member on over forty public and private companies spanning the globe since 1990. His extensive network of business, political, environmental and social leaders is expected to provide Global Hemp with uniquely invaluable knowledge and expertise.

Dr. Jilek also commented on his appointment, “I am very excited to be joining Global Hemp Group and to utilize my network of international contacts to tap the brain power and technologies that are required for the evolution of this new and exciting sustainable industry.”

Shares rose 16.67% on the news to $0.35 per share.

Currently there are 23.6m outstanding shares with a market cap of $8.2 million.
