Aurcana (V.AUN) falls 19%: 52-week high and low report

A report on TSX and Venture companies that have hit their 52-week high and low during trading on Friday, December 20.

The first company on the TSX to hit a 52-week high was Sierra Wireless Inc. (TSX: T.SW, Stock Forum), which hit a new high of $23.66 after gaining 8.7%.

In its latest news the communication equipment company announced participation in the BMO Capital Markets 2013 Technology and Digital Media conference, which took place on December 10.

Open Text Corp. (TSX: T.OTC, Stock Forum) was the second company to get to a 52-week high. The company rose 1.3% to $97.80.

On December 4, Open Text unveiled a new generation of web-based remote application access solution that allows enterprise users to work and collaborate virtually using Linux and UNIX® applications and desktops anywhere in the world.

On the low side of the TSX, Lundin Petroleum AB. (TSX: T.LUP, Stock Forum) lost 7.8% to $19.56 a share.

Earlier today, the oil and gas company reported that the Luno II South Well 16/5-5 had been completed and returned lower than expected reservoir characteristics.

Martinrea International Inc. (TSX: T.MRE, Stock Forum) fell 6.6% to a new 52-week low of $6.99 a share.

On December 18, the automotive parts manufacturer reported that management had identified an issue with the historical reporting of one of the company's Canadian plants and immediately notified the Board and its external auditor KPMG.

On the Venture, the top 52-week high gainer was BioSyent Inc. (TSX: V.RX, Stock Forum), which gained 8.2% to $4.87 a share.

On December 4, the specialty pharmaceutical company’s CEO René Goehrum presented at the LD Micro VI Investor Conference in Los Angeles.

Wanted Technologies Corp. (TSX: V.WAN, Stock Forum) was second on the list with a climb of 4.8% to $1.52 a share.

On December 11, the technology company announced the completion of the secondary offering by major shareholders.

On the low side, Anfield Nickel Corp. (TSX: V.ANF, Stock Forum) slipped to a new 52-week low of $1.44 after losing 7.1%.

On October 22, the exploration and development company announced that it had agreed with Lumina Capital Limited Partnership to amend the terms of its loan.

And finally, Aurcana Corp. (TSX: V.AUN, Stock Forum) dropped 19.4% to $0.58 a share.

On December 19, the Board of Directors elected to put the Shafter project, located in Presidio County, Texas, on "care and maintenance" due to low silver prices.
