Barkerville Gold Mines (TSX-V:BGM, StockForum), a Vancouver-based firm engaged in the production and sale of gold, and the exploration, development and acquisition of mineral properties in British Columbia, released the complete hole metallic screen fire assay results of the thirty-seven diamond drill holes carried out on Cow Mountain in 2011.

According to the news release, “As recommended in the Company's NI 43-101 report dated December 31, 2012 (the "Technical Report", see News Release dated June 19 2013) and mentioned in the news release dated December 9, 2013, all reject samples from drill core that was originally analyzed in 2011 with standard fire assays and unassayed infill core samples from those same holes collected in 2013 have been sent for 1,000 g metallic screen fire assay.”

It went on to explain, “Considering coarse grained gold is common in the area it has been determined that the original 30 g standard fire assay method possibly undervalued gold grade. Once all drill data has been received, the Company will provide a comparative analysis between new and original drill data. The Company will also provide an updated NI 43-101 resource estimate.”

Highlights included 9.46 g/t Au over 12.2 metres between 224.6m and 236.8m at CM11-83, 10.31 g/t Au over 2.2 metres between 88.8m and 90.8m at CM11-59C, 21.75 g/t Au over 3.8 metres between 44.5m and 48.3m at CM11-29, 52.41 g/t Au over 1.2 metres between 86.7m and 87.9m at CM11-28B, 20.95 g/t Au over 5.8 metres between 2.4 and 8.2 metres at CM11-23, 5.64 g/t Au over 2.3 metres between 51.1m and 53.3m at CM11-21, 27.31 g/t Au over 1.4 metres between 17.8m and 19.2m at CM11-20 and 31.40 g/t Au over 3.6 metres between 64.5m and 68.1m at CM11-03.

Barkerville Gold Mines was in the news recently when the company reported on both metallic screen and lead collection fire assay results from fifteen diamond drill holes conducted on Cow Mountain.

Shares gained 10.91% on the news to $0.61 per share.

Currently there are 109.9m outstanding shares with a market cap of $67.0 million.
