The TSX showed some action today with Capstone Mining (TSX:CS, Stock Forum) bumping 11.28% to $2.86 per share with 4.1 million in share volume. A little bit puzzling as the company hasn’t reported anything since the beginning of the month when they announced resuming production at the Cozamin Mine located in Zacaecas, Mexico. Is there something we don’t know about?

Paladin Energy (TSX:PDN, Stock Forum) saw some love today as shares gained 11.48% to $0.34 per share with 2.0 million shares on the move. This volume comes on the heels of the company’s announcement two days ago that it had offloaded its minority interest in Langer Heinrich for an estimated US$190.0 million to CNNC subsidiary, China Uranium Corporation.

Carpathian Gold (TSX:CPN, Stock Forum) took a hit, dropping 14.29% to $0.03 per share with a 2.2 million share volume. The fall could be associated with the fact that the company announced on the 24th of June that it had to delay its annual general meeting due to late-filing of required annual filings. Are investors anticipating bad news?

Centerra Gold (TSX:CG, Stock Forum) dipped 6.39% to $6.30 per share with a 6.4 million share volume. Again no real news except the announcement on June 24, 2014, of a conference call and webcast regarding the company’s Q2 2014 financial results slated for July 29, 2014. Again, do investors sense something unpleasant in the offing?

Belo Sun Mining (TSX:BSX, Stock Forum) fell 8.57% to $0.16 per share with a 3.3 million share volume on no real news except the company’s release dated June 26, 2014 of its initial results for the 2014 drill campaign at its Volta Grande Project.
