Great Lakes Graphite Inc. (
TSX: V.GLK,
Stock Forum) said Monday it has beefed up its management team with two key hires.
The company said in a press release it has named Robert Suttie as chief financial officer, and Jo-Anne Archibald as corporate secretary.
Suttie brings 20 years of experience in financial services, including 12 years in public accounting, specializing in management advisory, accounting and financial disclosure, Great Lakes said.
Archibald has over 30 years of experience in corporate secretarial, investor relations and marketing. She is currently the President of DSA Corporate Services Inc., a leading Canadian provider of corporate secretarial services for reporting issuers.
Great Lakes shares rose 33% to 14 cents Monday, leaving the company with a market cap of $13.4 million, based on 95.7 million shares outstanding. The 52-week range is 13.5 cents and 3 cents.
The shares were also lifted last week when the company said it has taken a number of key steps along the road to being a revenue-generating supplier of high quality graphite to key buyers in the industrial minerals sector.
Those steps include the refurbishment of a micronization facility at Matheson, Ontario, the pending release of a resource calculation at the company’s Lochaber graphite project in Quebec, and the establishment of a marketing office in Boston, Mass.
