Forum) said Tuesday it has provided a second progress report to
HPQ Silicon Resources Inc. (
TSX: V.HPQ,
URAGF,
Forum), which covers lab scale test purification work, and the scaling up of a process to convert quartz into high purity silicon metal.
The report is entitled “Update on the PUREVAP
™ Process Characterization Testing #2.
The report confirms that recent and ongoing modifications to the PUREVAP
™ process have resulted in:
1. A 62% improvement in the impurity removal capacity of the system using low purity quartz as feedback.
2. A 531% increase in the yield of the silicon (Si) produced.

PyroGenesis is a high-tech company that designs, develops, manufactures and commercializes plasma waste-to-energy systems and plasma torch products.
Further to a press release dated March 30, 2017, PyroGenesis said it has received the down payment for an order of titanium powder (Ti-6A1-4V) and Inconel from a multinational conglomerate.
PyroGenesis was in the news recently
when the company said it has completed the assembly of its first powder production system, with the first powder run exceeding expectations and ramp-up already underway.
Powders produced during the ramp-up phase will be available for sale. The initial focus will be on producing pure Titanium powders.
