PyroGenesis Canada Inc. (

Forum) on Monday said its PyroGenesis Additive division has developed a new plasma-based process to produce metal powders.
It said the process not only enables MIM cut powder production at higher volumes, but may have a greater impact on the market than the company’s original Plasma Atomization technology.

PyroGenesis is a high-tech company that designs, develops, manufactures and commercializes plasma waste-to-energy systems and plasma torch products.
PyroGenesis was in the news recently when the company said it has received US$367,982 under military contracts worth US$1.2 million that were announced on January 10, 2017.
The payment announced today is one of several received since January by PyroGenesis totalling US$925,122 under an original contract worth US$978,312. The balance of approximately US$53,000 is expected to be received by the third quarter of 2017, the company said.
Additionally, PyroGenesis said $300,000 of warrants have been exercised.
