While cannabis investors are continually seeking out better sources for information in order to do due diligence on their favorite cannabis stocks, cannabis users also have a need for more/better information. On September 27, 2018; news was released which may be of interest to both these demographics.
Imex Systems Inc (TSX: V.IMEX, OTCQB: IMSYF, Forum) has announced the launch of “a comprehensive platform integrated into IMEX’s iGov portal called GOVCANN.” The purpose of this new software platform is to provide medicinal and recreational cannabis users with content that centers on cannabis access, laws, and regulations with respect to their own municipal/provincial jurisdiction – government-related cannabis information.
Imex has already positioned itself as a software solution provider to various levels of government in Canada with respect to the cannabis industry. The goal of the platform is to become a “central interface for cannabis news” to keep cannabis users fully/properly informed.
As an example of how this platform will be utilized, Ontario has already announced the creation of a web portal for the online purchase of cannabis products. Imex sees GOVCANN as a user tool to (among other things) facilitate the use of this website for cannabis consumers in Ontario.
The software has an AI focus, with the capacity to scale-up its cannabis data analytics as data is amassed. Adding to the commercial potential here, Imex is already in discussions with Canadian cannabis LP’s on how this platform can assist them to leverage their own cannabis operations.
Imex Systems Inc is listed on the Venture Exchange, with 46 million shares outstanding and a market cap of $17.4 million.
