A US immigration lawyer says the Canadian federal government has done a poor job of educating people about travelling with cannabis-related products. This, in the wake of two recent cases where Canadians were denied entry into the US after they were found carrying cannabidiol (CBD) oil – the non-psychoactive, medicinal component of cannabis hemp.
Less than two weeks ago,
a Canadian woman was barred from crossing the U.S. border in Washington state after a bottle of CBD oil was found in her backpack.
Len Saunders, the Blaine, WA immigration attorney representing both Canadians, says the two cases are "just the tip of the iceberg."
