Upon showing off its WiFi-based technologies to detect and deter mass shootings and terror attacks involving concealed
weapons at a UK expo in March 2020,
First Responder Technologies Inc. (CSE: WPN, Forum) just signed a major distribution deal in the United Kingdom.
WPN announced that in
late April 2020, it signed an exclusive reseller and strategic partnership agreement with
Sabre Global UK Ltd. for the distribution of the Company's units in the UK market.
A technology systems integrator and value-added reseller, Sabre UK focuses its business on introducing North American military and public safety technology to the United Kingdom. As WPN’s exclusive UK partner, Sabre UK will provide all the sales, as well as installation, aftermarket support and services will be to those customers, with First Responder on-deck to offer support where needed.
The two businesses will work together for the rest of this year as they engage defence and public safety agencies around the UK. Also on the agenda, is their efforts to ramp up and roll out customer support and service for the market.
As previously mentioned in its product development roadmap, First Responder Technologies is working to deliver the first units of its weapon detection system before the end of 2020, with additional deliveries to come next year and in 2022, as the Company achieves development milestones.
First Responder Technologies CEO Robert Delamar stated for investors that Sabre UK has a lot to offer his Company, with leading government agencies and private sector clients in the UK.
“Sabre UK is well positioned to develop the market for First Responder's products and services in the Territory, and we look forward to partnering with their experienced team to help build a business there.”
Sabre UK’s Commercial Director, Ian Church added that this partnership with First Responder unites extensive skills in business and technology strategy, as well as product ideation, technology development and deployment, also, perhaps most importantly, public safety.
“This partnership aligns with our core strategy on many fronts and we are excited to introduce First Responder's innovative detection products to our valued customers.”
First Responder Technologies is targeting a May 2020 deployment of its fully functional weapon-detection prototype. This system will perform three basic key functions: Detect concealed metal in a bag or on a person, estimate that object’s size and shape, while also triggering an alarm to call to defensive early warning action (intercepting a suspect or locking a door).

Under the terms of the agreement, if Sabre UK can acquire and distribute a minimum number of First Responder’s units, it could generate more than $11 million (USD) in revenue through the end of 2022. Once the First Responder’s supply chain and manufacturing reach maturity and scale, the Company expects a gross margin of roughly 50% per unit.
This distribution agreement will remain in effect until both parties terminate the deal, and the exclusivity provisions contained therein will remain in effect until December 31st, 2022.
The UK has a well-documented need for advanced security devices and the system offered by First Responder Technologies Inc. should be of great interest to that market, especially now that it is bolstered by the connections and experience behind the Sabre UK team. Investors should keep track of further developments on this partnership.
