EuroLife Brands Inc. EuroLife Brands Inc. (CSE: EURO, OTCPK: EURPF, Forum) recently signed off on a major
transaction that signifies its foray into North America’s health and wellness sector, which analysts predict will register a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of around 4% from 2020 to 2025.
EURO, the vertically integrated play in the growing health and wellness market, announced in August 2020 that it has aquired 100% of the issued and outstanding securities of privately held
Plant & Co Marche Inc.
This hybrid health and wellness brand has a retail location in Toronto and offers niche products catering to health and wellness conscious consumers with a focus on plant-based, vegan, vegetarian, hemp, and specialty immune boosting products.
The acquisition of the Plant & Co Marche brand and its retail location makes for an excellent segue into the growing health and wellness sector in Canada.
From chronic lifestyle diseases growing in prevalence, along with higher rates of diabetes, blood pressure, asthma, arthritis, cancer, dementia and other stress-related disorders, people are gravitating toward various healthcare activities that were not readily accessible in years past.
The evidence-based benefits of plant-based whole food nutrition for individual and planetary health runs deep and has shown improvements in cardiovascular health, reducing diseases such as Type-2 Diabetes and can offer a source of protein into a diet without having to rely as heavily on animal-based foods.
EuroLife has been collaborating with Plant & Co Marche and a number of retail and consumer packaged goods experts to determine the final inventory product SKU’s. In
a news release, EuroLife CEO Shawn Moniz explained for investors that this move helps secure the Company’s foothold into the Canadian retail space in a key demographical area that is also heavily populated, giving a tremendous commerce opportunity in-store, as well as delivery and online e-commerce.
“The flagship location in Toronto will be emulated in other key demographic markets and larger centres across the country. Utilizing our previous experience in consumer behaviour and consumer targeting and analytics, we will aim to take this unique brand in the health and wellness sector to greater heights. We have an aggressive plan for expansion and will continue to look for opportune acquisition targets in Canada and North America.”
Strategically located Toronto’s Little Italy, where roughly 100,000 households, apartments, and business are situated within a 30-minute walk of the Plant & Co Marche flagship location, as well as shops, restaurants and bars in the lively, culturally-rich area. This 2,200-plus square foot retail location is managed by vegan enthusiasts and possess a liquor license and seating for 116 customers with a fully licensed patio. In these COVID times, it also has a designated curbside pickup station for delivery services and walk-ins. The facility had also seen more than $250,000 in design and renovations in 2018-2019.
Both businesses are now looking to identify potential additional retail locations throughout Ontario, Quebec, and British Columbia.
This acquisition is coming at an ideal time for EuroLife to take full advantage of the growing health and wellness market. It is a market that encompasses the complete state of wellbeing throughout the body, spirit, and mind.
Elements that capitalize on this market include personal care / beauty, nutrition, weight management, fitness, also preventive / personalized medicine.
On top of this, there are also services offered to consumers in the market that focus on wellness real estate and tourism, as well as health spas and even thermal and mineral springs, and form an integral operational part of the industry.
EuroLife Brands, bolstered by the acquisition of Plant & Co Marche Inc., is in a prime position to offer a sizeable market share a piece of their cutting-edge offerings. Together, they have completed a go-to-market retail plan for various products within EuroLife’s family of brands, which will tie in private label “Plant & Co” capabilities within retail, e-commerce, and home-delivery options that investors should conduct their own deeper due diligence into, when looking at this business’ efforts.
