Recent high-profile data breaches in messaging applications (especially with the popular WhatsApp application) have made it urgent for businesses and data privacy advocates to protect their communications from cyber-attacks and identity theft via mobile and desktop devices.

Click to enlargeEnter: Internet Privacy and Cybersecurity provider GlobeX Data Ltd. (CSE: SWIS, OTCQB: SWISF, Forum), who has been growing its Swiss hosted solutions for secure communications and secure data management worldwide to bring a new, safer and more private alternative to new markets.

GlobeX Data’s Chief Executive Officer Alain Ghiai said in a statement on the Company’s latest frontier that there is a growing demand to replace WhatsApp as a business messaging solution in Mexico, and in the world in general, and SekurMessenger is here to satisfy that demand.

“We are also excited to expand to other countries of Central and Latin America in the coming years, as we plan to launch with other partners in the region as well. With security and privacy becoming a global concern, and the new WhatsApp rules to share all users' data with Facebook, we have seen a surge in demand and inquiries for our secure and private communications solutions.”

GlobeX Data officially started the commercial launch of its SekurMessenger Swiss hosted messaging security and privacy solution in Latin America, which offers encrypted messaging and secure file-share communications solution with telecom giant América Móvil's (NYSE: AMX)Telcel mobile operator in Mexico.

Together with América Móvil, GlobeX is working to offer a secure and private alternative to other non-secure and non-private messaging applications. This market is geared primarily for business and government users, and privacy conscious consumers.

A huge loophole in security and privacy is the requirement of a phone number (which divulges a user’s phone device ID) and social engineering a user’s phone or computer contact list, which, when compromised, can spread to the contacts of an infected user. SekurMessenger eliminates many of these privacy and security risks. SekurMessenger issues each user a username and a SM number. The SM number is the contact ID a user would disclose in order for other SM users to be added.

The service also comes with a self-destruct timer and other features as well, including GlobeX's proprietary VirtualVaults and HeliX technologies with all data stored in Swiss hosted encrypted servers.

SWIS’ secure messaging service has been fully integrated with Telcel’s billing and provisioning platform. Telcel’s independent distributors generate over 70% of mobile phone line sales in Mexico for Telcel and are already receiving requests for the solution.

The largest mobile operator in Mexico, Telcel boasts more than 75 million mobile subscribers. América Móvil is the seventh-largest telecom operator in the world with over 277 million mobile subscribers in more than 20 countries throughout Latin America and Europe.

As the business grows over the coming years, SekurMessenger sales will expand outside of Mexico to other countries where América Móvi operates through its Claro brand, such as Colombia and other Latin American countries, estimated to start by the second half of 2022.

Meanwhile, GlobeX stated that yearly gross sales of $1.5 million (USD) are expected to be generated by the end of 2022 for SekurMessenger, with an increase of 50% for 2023 in Mexico alone. A further user base is also expected from GlobeX’s other cybersecurity distributor, Micronet, in Colombia and Panama. The Company added that sales with Micronet are planned to start no later than Q1 2022.
