When Stockhouse Editorial last met up with
LEAF Mobile Inc. (
TSX-V.LEAF,
OTC: LEMLF,
Forum) in
late August, we discovered how mobile gaming has become one of the hottest tech investment sectors.
Fast-forward to today, and the company continues to demonstrate why investors and shareholders have taken hold of this innovative and leading free-to-play mobile game group. And with revenue growth of 28% versus the same period last year, and a market cap of over $250 million at press time, it’s easy to see that this LEAF is not falling.
And since smartphones and mobile devices are never far out of our reach, now more than ever people are connected to their devices literally 24-7. Thus, apps are seeing more downloads and use at unprecedented levels, especially games.
In the News
On
September 9th, the company along with their subsidiary company, East Side Games Inc., in collaboration with Universal Games and Digital Platforms, announced their next free-to-play mobile title –
The Office: Somehow We Manage – inspired by the U.S. version of NBC's iconic
The Office, and is now streaming exclusively on NBC’s Peacock TV. This is also first mobile game inspired by the U.S. version of the hilarious workplace comedy NBC's The Office lets fans revisit the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company’s greatest moments from the series, which is now streaming exclusively on Peacock.
The Office: Somehow We Manage takes a new twist on an old classic of the sitcom, as online players will take on the responsibility of ensuring the success of the Scranton Pennsylvania branch and prevent it from being downsized.
The company says players will be “required to micromanage office shenanigans with the primary goal of keeping the Scranton branch running like a well-oiled machine.” As part of the gaming app, they’ll also be able to unlock and upgrade characters, desks, and additional episodes.
