The Vancouver Resource Investment Conference (VRIC) is quickly approaching, taking place at the Vancouver Convention Centre from Sunday to Monday (Jan. 21-22).

Hosted by Cambridge House, VRIC has been at the epicentre of resource conferences for more than 25 years, putting itself in the same conversation as the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) conference in Toronto.

This year more than 300 junior mining companies will be presenting at VRIC in tandem with more than 70 keynote speakers to discuss the latest trends and themes impacting the industry.

“We are entering a new era of de-globalization. The trust that allowed for global trade over the last 30 years has shifted irreversibly and countries are now scrambling to secure supplies of natural resources as a matter of national security. As a result, demand for key resources, will skyrocket,” Jay Martin, CEO of Cambridge House, said in a statement.

Every year more than 5,000 investors from all over are in attendance at the Vancouver Resource Investment Conference, and past notable attendees have included former Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Mexico former President Felipe Calderon.

VRIC 2024 topics of discussion

Hot topics at the Vancouver Resource Investment Conference this year are wide-ranging and cater to investors of every level. Securing natural resources – and domestic ones at that – have become vital now more than ever.

With a new year now in full swing, investors can attend discussions related to the current commodity cycle, stocks to watch over the course of the year, what small-cap stocks are ready to boom in 2024, how to build a junior mining portfolio, thoughts on the gold market breaking out in 2024, and a forecast for uranium this year among others. And that’s only on day one.

On the second day of VRIC, investors can get a glimpse into a copper 2024 forecast, more thoughts on gold’s 2024 outlook and the future of Canada’s economy in addition to many other presentations.

One thing seems to be certain, however: the sentiment for Canada’s resource sector is positive, and that alone is exciting.
