PG&E Elects New Officers In Corporate Affairs, Information Technology And Corporate Strategy

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) today announced appointments to three key roles within the utility's leadership team. The company's Board of Directors has elected Travis Kiyota as Vice President, Corporate Affairs; Deborah Affonsa as Vice President, Corporate Strategy; and Brian Rich as Vice President, IT Business Technology.

"Travis, Deb and Brian have built strong track records as leaders within their organizations at PG&E, and have each been instrumental in supporting our efforts to strengthen PG&E's performance on behalf of customers," said PG&E President Chris Johns. "These appointments continue to add to the depth of talent and experience on PG&E's leadership team and position the company for future success. We look forward to their contributions."

As Vice President, Corporate Affairs, Travis Kiyota will lead the company's local government relations across its 70,000-square-mile service area, overseeing four regional corporate affairs teams responsible for working with local officials and agencies, and coordinating with PG&E's operating lines of business. Kiyota will report to Greg S. Pruett, Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs. Kiyota joined PG&E in 2000 and served most recently as the company's Senior Director, Local Government Relations. Kiyota has 20 years of experience in public affairs and government relations in the public and private sectors. He is a graduate of the University of California Los Angeles.

As Vice President, Corporate Strategy, Deborah Affonsa will lead the utility's strategic planning and integrated planning process teams. Affonsa joined PG&E in 2006 and most recently served as Senior Director, Utility Strategic Planning. She will report to PG&E President Chris Johns. Affonsa has more than 23 years of experience in strategic development, sales and marketing with leading companies in the energy and industrial sectors. She holds a master's degree from the University of Pennsylvania and an undergraduate degree from Villanova University. She is also a graduate of Harvard University's Advanced Management Program.

As Vice President, IT Business Technology, Brian Rich will be responsible for leading an application development team focused on partnering with the utility's lines of business to deploy technology and drive operational improvements. Rich joined PG&E in 2010 and most recently served as Senior Director, Customer Care Technology. He will report to Karen Austin, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Rich has more than 16 years of IT experience and is a graduate of George Washington University.

The new appointments are effective December 19, 2012.
