VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Dec. 24, 2012) - East Asia Minerals Corporation (TSX VENTURE:EAS) ("EAS" or the "Company") announces that Dave Anthony has been appointed to the Board of Directors.
Further to the Company's news release of December 11, 2012, in which it was announced that Mr. Anthony was stepping down as the Chief Operating Officer and agreed to become a director when a position became available, the Company now announces that such a board position was made available and Mr. Anthony was appointed on December 20, 2012. This opening became available as Jay Chmelauskas resigned from the Board to pursue other personal endeavors. The Company thanks Mr. Chmelauskas for his time and service to the Board and wishes him the best in the future.
Mr. Anthony will continue to provide his extensive expertise in mineral exploration, development and operations at the Board level. His hands-on experience with the Company's Indonesian operations will prove to be very useful to the company's vision for future growth.
