Toronto Stock Exchange, TSX Venture Exchange
TORONTO, Jan. 7, 2013 /CNW/ - TMX Group today announced its financing
activity on Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange for
December and full year 2012.
Toronto Stock Exchange welcomed 14 new issuers in December 2012, down
from November 2012 when there were 20, but up from December 2011 when
there were 10. Of the new listings, 8 were structured products and 3
were from the mining sector. Total financings raised increased 38%
compared to the previous month and was up 97% compared to December
2011. The total number of financings was 99, up from 71 the previous
month and 81 the same month a year earlier.
Toronto Stock Exchange welcomed 132 new issuers in 2012 compared to 199
in 2011. Total financings raised increased 23% from 2011. The total
number of financings was 723 compared to 711 in 2011.
TSX Venture Exchange welcomed 13 new issuers in December 2012, up from 9
the previous month, but down from December 2011 when there were 20. The
new listings included 8 from the Capital Pool Company program, 4 from
the mining sector and 1 from the life sciences sector. Total financings
raised increased 96% from the previous month and increased 82% from
December 2011. There were 199 financings in December 2012 compared to
153 in November 2012 and 219 the same month a year earlier.
TSX Venture Exchange listed 161 issuers in 2012 compared to 216 in 2011.
Total financings raised fell 41% from 2011 and the total number of
financings was down 18%.
