Webster Bank Names Colin Eccles Chief Information Officer

WATERBURY, Conn., Jan. 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Webster Bank, a leading regional bank serving businesses and consumers from Westchester County, N.Y., to Boston, Mass., today announced Colin Eccles will join the bank as executive vice president and chief information officer, effective January 23.

Eccles brings more than 25 years of banking industry experience to Webster.  He served as CIO for the past four years at Umpqua Holdings in Portland, Ore.,successfully delivering on a series of electronic banking solutions, including mobile banking.  A native of South Africa, Eccles worked for the First National Bank of South Africa before joining Hogan System, a banking software company, in Dallas, Texas.  When Hogan was acquired by Computer Sciences Corporation, Eccles assumed responsibility for leading the company's services organizations for the Americas.  Eccles also worked for Washington Mutual Bank (WaMu) for seven years and was the CIO for the Retail Bank prior to joining Umpqua Holdings.

Eccles is a graduate of Witwatersand University in Johannesburg, South Africa with a Masters degree from the University of South Africa.
