Bell Aliant brings FibreOP to 22,000 more homes and businesses in New Brunswick

SAINT JOHN, NB, Feb. 19, 2013 /CNW/ - Bell Aliant Inc. (TSX: BA) continues its New Brunswick FibreOP expansion, adding eight new communities throughout the province in early 2013. The $12-million investment will bring this state-of-the-art technology to approximately 22,000 homes and businesses throughout New Brunswick.

Residential and business customers in Dalhousie, St. Stephen, Beresford, Petit-Rocher, Tracadie-Sheila, Caraquet, Shippagan, and Sackville will soon have access to Atlantic Canada's top Internet speeds and best TV service.

"We're excited to continue our FibreOP rollout in New Brunswick," said Andre LeBlanc, vice president, residential markets, Bell Aliant. "FibreOP means having the fastest Internet speeds in Atlantic Canada and the best TV product in the market with more than 100 HD channels, the best Whole Home PVR, and amazing apps for, Facebook, Twitter, Galaxie Music and more. With a FibreOP bundle, customers save on the best of everything."

Bell Aliant's 100 per cent fibre-to-the-home network is already available across New Brunswick in Woodstock, Saint John, Fredericton, Greater Moncton, Bathurst, Grand Falls, Sussex, Edmundston, Campbellton, Hampton, and Miramichi. 

Bell Aliant was the first in Canada to cover an entire city with fibre-to-the-home. By the end of 2013, Bell Aliant will have extended this state-of-the-art network to approximately 800,000 homes and businesses in its territory.
