City of Mesquite, Texas, Chooses Incode® and Munis® Applications from Tyler Technologies
Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) today announced that the city of
Mesquite, Texas, chose its Incode®
court case management and Munis® enterprise
resource planning (ERP) solutions to replace multiple standalone
information systems, and to create efficiencies across the city’s 16
departments. The agreement includes related professional services,
training and support.
The city chose Tyler’s integrated ERP and court
case management solutions for their ease of use, broader
functionality and deeper reporting capabilities, and expects to improve
overall functionality and increase the number of users that interact
with the systems. Incode and Munis are contemporary, long-term solutions
for the city, which currently uses aging applications that in many cases
are no longer supported by their providers.
The city will rely on Munis
to produce easy-to-read and timely financial reports and eliminate poor
integration between multiple financial systems that often result in
duplicate data entry and redundant or irretrievable data. Munis will
also replace the city’s core financial accounting system whose limited
abilities have been outgrown by the city’s information needs.
Tyler’s single-vendor solution enables the city of Mesquite to interface
existing applications with Munis and Incode, thereby increasing
efficiency, reducing data entry and lessening the risk of human error.
“Tyler is proud to partner with the city of Mesquite and deliver exactly
the kind of broad ERP functionality that was central to the city’s
decision-making process,” said Richard E. Peterson Jr., president of
Tyler’s ERP & School Division. “With Munis, the city will have a
powerful, centralized financial system that helps streamline workflow
while making it easier for employees to find, process, report and share
financial information with the city’s constituents.”
“Incode is a proven partner to more than 450 courts in Texas and we
believe that meant a lot during the selection process,” said Brett Cate,
president of Tyler’s Local Government Division. “We look forward to
delivering our court case management system to the city of Mesquite, and
to helping the city, its courts and citizens quickly benefit from the
productivity gains that come from using Incode.”
The city of Mesquite, whose municipal court became a court of record in
2012, has about 1,000 employees and serves approximately 140,000
residents; it borders eastern portions of Dallas. The Mesquite
Independent School District, with 39,000 students and 46 campuses, has
been a Munis client since 2003.
