3M Health Information Systems has been awarded a contract by Banner
Health that will expand the organization’s portfolio of 3M products to
include the 3M 360 Encompass System. The system’s integrated
computer-assisted coding and clinical documentation improvement (CDI)
technology will assist Banner Health – one of the nation’s largest
nonprofit healthcare systems – in addressing the challenges of
healthcare reform and ICD-10 adoption in 2014.
With auto-suggested codes and real-time prompts for clinical
documentation specificity delivered across all CDI and coding processes,
the 3M
360 Encompass System promotes optimal capture of patient severity in
physician documentation and reduces the time needed to prepare
physicians for ICD-10. Coders and CDI specialists access a common view
of the patient information, which promotes streamlined processes,
increased communication, strengthened collaboration and actionable data
to improve patient care.
