Washington Trust
recently kicked off its 13th Annual
Peanut Butter Drive at the company’s Employee Fest, challenging
employees to bring in peanut butter or donate online to the Rhode Island
Food Bank. Employees donated 325 lbs. of peanut butter and raised an
additional $1860 through online donations, enough for the Food Bank to
buy 1,488 jars of peanut butter.
“Our employees have always been dedicated to the Peanut Butter
Drive and ensuring hungry children across the State have access to
healthy meals,” said Joseph J. MarcAurele, Washington Trust Chairman,
President and Chief Executive Officer. “In the past 12 years we’ve fed
more than 3 million Rhode Islanders through this drive.”
Rhode Islanders can drop off a jar of new, unopened peanut butter
during the month of March at any of Washington Trust’s 18 branch
locations. All donations made to a branch will be sent to a local food
pantry in the community. Online donations can be made at www.rifoodbank.org/peanutbutter.
All online donations go directly to the Rhode Island Food Bank.
