MONTREAL, March 7, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - RBC Royal Bank is pleased to announce the appointment of René Douville to the position of Managing Director, National Client Group for Quebec, in the wake of a major reorganization and various measures to support and accelerate RBC's expansion in Quebec. Mr. Douville will report to Trevor Evancic, Managing Director and Head, RBC National Client Group and Martin Thibodeau, Regional President, Quebec, RBC Royal Bank.

"We are very pleased to welcome René Douville back to RBC," explained Martin Thibodeau, President, Quebec Headquarters, RBC Royal Bank. "His solid experience of high-growth companies, largely with RBC, will enable us to continue producing very satisfactory results and to increase our market share, primarily in regions with strong potential."

Mr. Douville returned to RBC in February 2013, following a brief hiatus, during which time he continued to help companies in their development. Previously, he worked at RBC Capital Markets, where he was responsible for managing relationships with mid-market public and private companies in Quebec, and supporting their financial needs through RBC's suite of lending products and capital markets advisory services.  With 30 years' experience in finance and business development to his name, he has worked in various sectors of  Commercial Financial Services, where he has always implemented leading-edge strategies, in particular as one of the founding members and manager of RBC Technology Ventures Inc., a company dedicated to investing in innovative businesses.

Mr. Douville has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University, as well as an MBA from HEC Montréal and Cranfield School of Management in England. He is also a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors and of the U.S.-based National Venture Capital Association.

René Douville sits on the boards of Genome Canada and the Montreal Canadian Club.
