Expansion to Support Growth Strategy and Key Customer and Partner
Relationships
TORONTO, March 7, 2013 /CNW/ - Redline Communications (www.rdlcom.com Group Inc. TSX: RDL), a leading provider of broadband wireless solutions for
machine-to-machine (M2M) communications, today announced changes to its
executive management team and an expansion of its operations in the
Middle East:
-
Rob Williams has been promoted to president of Middle East and Africa,
where Redline is expanding its presence. Williams will also continue to
serve as Redline's Chief Operating Officer and will now be located in
Oman.
-
Carl McKinnon joins Redline as vice president of worldwide sales.
MacKinnon was previously global sales director for communications at GE
Digital Energy.
-
Bojan Subasic has been promoted to vice president of development and
production. Subasic was previously Redline's associate vice president
of development and production.
-
Rick Cuthill has taken on the role of general manager of Redline's new
business unit, Redline Military Technologies (RMT).
"These management changes are intended to help us scale our business and
continue to get closer to our customers and partners," said Eric Melka,
Redline CEO. "The Middle East in particular is a significant market
for Redline - we have an excellent reputation there with a strong and
dedicated team. By further building out our presence with a new
operations center in Muscat, Oman, we're reinforcing our commitment to
the Region and our oil and gas business."
"Rob Williams joined Redline in 2010 and has been instrumental in
bringing the company to profitability," added Melka. "Rob is a great
leader. He brings integrity, passion, business sense and a genuine
desire to work with customers, partners and employees to deliver the
best possible solutions, and we are excited to see him move to the
Middle East.
Carl McKinnon's experience at GE Digital Energy and his knowledge of the
Energy market will help accelerate Redline's success, especially in the
Oil and Gas market worldwide. His deep experience selling
communications solutions to the Energy market will be valuable as
Redline builds upon key successes in this sector. McKinnon will report
to Amir Rosenzweig, SVP Business Development, who will now dedicate his
full time and attention to developing and maintaining relationships
with Redline's strategic partners.
"As our partnerships in many parts of the world are growing, dedicating
our most senior team to this effort will enable us to leverage our
business and those partnerships," added Melka. "The addition of Carl
to lead the sales effort will undoubtedly result in additional
successes in the energy vertical, our fastest growing segment."
Bojan Subasic's promotion to Vice President, Development and Production
is the natural extension of a yearlong program to integrate software
and hardware groups into a cohesive team. The team has successfully
delivered new products with more functionality, even as they reduced
costs and kept quality high.
"We've demonstrated that not only do we have a unique product offering,
but thanks to our technical team, we have a software-based technology
platform that can scale," noted Melka. "With the addition of a VP
Sales and a more dedicated focus on strategic partnerships, we're now
well positioned to take advantage of the market demand we're seeing in
all of our markets."
Lastly, Rick Cuthill will be managing Redline's new business unit as
General Manager, Redline Military Technologies (RMT), which was
established to meet the specialized needs of the military and public
safety markets. Rick will lead a team that is focused, nimble and
adaptive, and will work closely with Redline's largest OEM partner.
"The military and public safety markets are very important to Redline,"
says Melka. "With RMT we have the best of both worlds - a focused team
to meet the unique requirements associated with these markets, and the
ability to integrate these most demanding requirements into our
commercial products."
