National Minority Supplier Development Council Names Cintas’ Dave Wheeler Chair of Program Committee
Cintas
Corporation (NASDAQ: CTAS) today announced the appointment by the National
Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) of Dave Wheeler,
senior vice president of global supply chain, to chair of its Program
Committee. The Program Committee is a standing committee of the NMSDC
Board of Directors charged with analyzing the benefits of new and
current NMSDC programs that support the organization’s 3,500 corporate
members and 16,000 certified minority business enterprises (MBEs). Mr.
Wheeler was appointed to the Board of Directors in 2011 and the
Executive Committee in 2012.
“Mr. Wheeler was instrumental in the development of our five-year
strategic plan last year, leading the committee focused on the area of
business process standardization,” said NMSDC President Joset B. Wright.
“We look forward to Dave bringing his perspective and insight to this
important role.”
NMSDC’s programs aim to connect corporate members with MBEs of all sizes
in order to increase procurement and business opportunities. As chair
for the Program Committee, Wheeler will also identify opportunities for
new services and guide the implementation of program improvements and
new initiatives. The committee is comprised of representatives from
NMSDC affiliates and corporate and minority business constituent groups.
It convenes at least three times each year.
Wheeler joined Cintas in 2001 and has since worked in a variety of
leadership roles. He currently oversees the company’s supplier diversity
and environmental sustainability initiatives in addition to overall
global supply chain responsibilities.
“Many organizations today, including Cintas, make it a priority to
include diverse suppliers in their supply chains,” said Wheeler. “In my
new role with NMSDC, I plan to make it easier for corporate members to
connect and grow relationships with minority business enterprises.
Developing and improving programs that enable learning and collaboration
will be the keys to our success.”
