About The Littlest Lamb:

Egypt is home to an estimated 10,000 orphans and 1,000,000 street children. Orphans in Egypt face a host of challenges, including the stigma of being "fatherless." They face illiteracy, poverty and shame. Because adoption is illegal in Egypt, orphans will never have the chance to join a family.

Street children support themselves by cleaning, begging, selling trinkets, shining shoes and doing whatever they can to survive. Many have faced violence. Since the revolution that began on January 25th, a large number of relief centers and aid organizations have closed down, leaving the children who rely on them with nothing.

The Littlest Lamb is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization with one ultimate goal: to make the lives of orphans and street children better. We believe that with the right tools, we can help children to break the imprisoning cycle of poverty and encourage them to become productive members of society.

To that end, The Littlest Lamb Orphanage, which is currently being built just 20 kilometers outside of Cairo, will soon house 200 orphans with a new standard of care. Our children will live in a beautiful, new, state of the art facility and will have parental- style role models to guide them. With a focus on education, recreation and spiritual guidance, our unique philosophy and approach is sure to raise the bar for orphan care.

In addition to the orphanage, we are currently running the following programs to benefit both orphans and street children:

  • A Computer Literacy Program that is bringing 150 new computers and computer training to youth centers and orphanages
  • Refurbishing of several small, independently run orphanages that are in gross disrepair
  • An Educational Tutoring Program because while so many of the orphans we work with are so promising, unfortunately they are not given the proper tools to excel academically in order to break free from the cycle of poverty. We provide tutoring programs and the educational tools they need to succeed in school and reach their full potential.
  • Medical and dental care is also provided for the thirteen orphanages we work with in Cairo.
