CHARLOTTE, N.C. and RALEIGH, N.C., April 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Duke Energy Foundation announced today it will provide the NC Agricultural Foundation $75,000 to support North Carolina 4-H.

A majority of the award will fund the 4-H Electric Congress and electric programs. This grant continues Duke Energy's 65 years of support for North Carolina 4-H's electric programs.

"4-H opens career opportunities to students across our state through their focus on science, technology, engineering and math. The electric programs help prepare future employees for our company and more energy-conscious citizens for our state."

More than 65,000 North Carolina youth participate in 4-H's electric and energy conservation programs, which will culminate with over 200 4-H youth and adult volunteer leaders attending the 2013 NC 4-H Electric Congress in Charlotte, N.C.
