Western Plains Change of Operatorship on Jointly Held Properties
Calgary, Alberta CANADA, April 26, 2013 /FSC/ - Western Plains Petroleum Ltd. (WPP - TSX Venture), ("Western Plains" or the "Company") today announced that Petrocapita Oil and Gas L.P., through its general partner, Petrocapita GP I Ltd. ("Petrocapita"), has assumed operatorship of a majority of the oil and gas interests of the Company held in Saskatchewan and Alberta that, until recently, were jointly held with its working interest partner, Alberta Star Development Corp. ("Alberta Star"). The change-over in operator from the Company on these jointly held interests was scheduled as part of Petrocapita's purchase of all of Alberta Star's oil and gas interests, including those joint working interests held with Western Plains, such purchase closing on April 23, 2013. With the takeover of operatorship of these jointly held interests, Western Plains expects to reduce it general and administrative expenses.
