Citrix Offers GoToMyPC in Japan Through Partners KDDI Corporation and Ascentech K.K.
Award-Winning Remote Access Product Now Available and Supported in
Japanese
Citrix
today announced it is offering its market-leading, cloud-based remote
access product, Citrix
GoToMyPC®, to customers in Japan through partnerships with KDDI
Corporation and Ascentech
K.K. These partners will deliver GoToMyPC both as a standalone
solution and as an integrated service offering, giving their customers a
simple, reliable and secure solution to access files, programs, email
and networks on their Mac or PC from any web browser, iOS or Android
tablet or smartphone. Each partner will also provide customer support in
Japanese.
Tools that support new mobile workstyles are increasingly important as
companies look for ways to improve mobility, business continuity and
productivity while reducing costs. Recent research
has shown that 77 percent of Japanese smartphone users access web-based
and mobile apps daily, emphasizing the reliance on mobile devices to
access and get work done on the go. According to a study
by the Bank of Japan, 97 percent of those surveyed had reviewed
their business continuity plans following the March 2011 megaquake and
tsunami and 70 percent reported “some inadequacies remain” with their
current plans.
“Whether you’re home working after hours, commuting or traveling on
business, it is more important than ever for global employees to have
secure access to their files and programs, wherever they are,” said Mike
Musson, vice president of strategy and business development for the
Online Services Division at Citrix. “We’re pleased to partner with KDDI
and Ascentech, two leading business solution providers, so that more
companies can benefit from the workforce flexibility and productivity
GoToMyPC can offer.”
As Japan’s second largest telecommunications carrier, KDDI
Corporation has a proven track record in Japan and a longstanding
reputation for quality and reliability, offering both mobile and
fixed-line services.
According to KDDI’s Product Planning Division, “Business continuity and
increased productivity are key to the success of Japan’s workforce.
Through KDDI’s partnership with Citrix, the company can now offer its
customers a fast and secure solution in GoToMyPC that gives users the
flexibility to access their important files and programs on their Mac or
PC from their tablet, smartphone, or laptop, anywhere in the world.”
Ascentech
K.K. is a major distributor of leading edge technologies in Japan.
The company is also a Citrix distributor in Japan and has extensive
experience providing business productivity solutions to the Japanese
market.
“We are looking forward to providing GoToMyPC to the Japanese market and
extending its benefits to customers,” said Mr. Naohiro Sato, CEO,
Ascentech K.K. “With its market leadership and reputation for delivering
security levels that meet the highest banking and financial industry
requirements, GoToMyPC provides a valuable, affordable and easily
adoptable cloud-based remote access solution. The product also enables
