The World Semiconductor Trade Statistics Spring 2013 global semiconductor sales forecast predicts worldwide sales to total $297.8 billion in 2013, a year-over-year increase of 2.1 percent. In 2014, global sales are expected to grow 5.1 percent to $312.9 billion. "With modest but steady gains in semiconductor sales in recent months and stronger growth projected for the remainder of this year and 2014, the global semiconductor industry is heading in the right direction as summer approaches, despite a stubbornly sluggish macroeconomic environment," said SIA Chief Executive Brian Toohey.
Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NYSE: AMD) shares traded in the range of $3.81 to $3.94 Thursday before settling to close at $3.94, an increase of 0.77 percent. The stock appears to be facing some resistance at $3.98 with some support at $3.81. It has been unveiled that Sony’s upcoming PS4 next-generation console will be powered by a semi-custom AMD APU. Shares of Advanced Micro Devices have gained approximately 64.0 percent so far in 2013.

Micron Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: MU) shares traded in the range of $12.14 to $12.54 Thursday before settling to close at $12.35, an increase of 2.75 percent. The stock appears to be facing some resistance at $12.65 with support at $11.99. The company reported net sales grew to $2.1 billion for the second quarter of fiscal 2013, from net sales $1.8 billion in the previous quarter. NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ: NVDA) shares traded in the range of $14.15 to $14.36 Thursday before settling to close at $14.25, an increase of 0.64 percent. The stock appears to be facing resistance at the $14.38 and $14.98 levels. The company reported revenues were $954.7 million for the first quarter of fiscal 2014, a decrease of 13.7 percent when compared to the previous quarter. Shares of NVIDIA have gained approximately 16 percent so far in 2013.

SanDisk Corporation (NASDAQ: SNDK) shares traded in the range of $57.38 to $58.52 Thursday before settling to close at $58.50, an increase of 1.74 percent. The stock appears to be facing resistance at $58.50 with some support at $57.17. The company reported revenues were $1.34 billion for the first quarter of 2013, an increase of 11 percent year-over-year. Shares of SanDisk have gained approximately 35 percent so far in 2013.
