It will certainly make a very positive difference.”
Franklin Covey’s The Leader in Me is a whole-school transformation process that emphasizes personal leadership skills development and creates a culture of student empowerment. Included is content from The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, authored by Stephen Covey, which is integrated in everyday, age-appropriate language into the core subjects and curriculum of a school. It is a holistic, school-wide experience for school staff, students and parents and creates a common language and culture within the school. It inspires young students at elementary schools to develop the skills and self-confidence to lead their lives and succeed in the 21st century. Principles from Stephen Covey’s book, The Leader in Me:How Schools and Parents Around the World are Inspiring Greatness, One Child at a Time, are also included. The book chronicles how extraordinary elementary schools are teaching the same leadership principles, which have guided corporate and government boardroom decisions for years, to elementary school age children.
Franklin Covey’s The Leader in Me process continues to receive noteworthy praise from administrators, staff, parents, and students and is producing extraordinary results and having a significant impact on the lives of children of all ages, socio-economic levels, learning capacities, and cultural backgrounds.
Sean Covey, Executive Vice President, Global Solutions and Partnerships and Education Practice Leader, Franklin Covey Co., said, “We at Franklin Covey are thrilled to partner with CPS to localize and deliver this powerful process to educators and millions of students throughout the Netherlands. They are the most qualified partner to work closely with us to deliver the high-quality standards needed to appropriately facilitate The Leader in Me and The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People to schools in the Netherlands.”
Koning said, “In our consultancy projects, we connect the primary processes (teaching) with the secondary process (leadership). Leadership is the operating system through which all our goals are reached in education. If leadership is there, the students will benefit and eventually develop their talents and find their place in society. The books of Stephen Covey, such as The 7 Habits, have certainly influenced our vision. So, this partnership feels like we’ve just connected to our family.”
