ROSELAND, N.J., June 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- ADP® announced today it is co-sponsoring the U.S. Small Business Administration's (SBA) one-day National Small Business Week (NSBW) event in Pittsburgh. Today's event, held at Pittsburgh Technical Institute in Oakdale, commemorates the week's 50th anniversary by honoring the outstanding contributions of local entrepreneurs, small business owners and other industry leaders.
The event will feature free workshops and information sessions on various topics important to small businesses, such as patent and innovation legal issues and applying for business certifications, to help small businesses thrive and grow. Attendees also will have the opportunity to participate in a mentoring and networking session while learning from experienced business leaders.
"Small business owners are as innovative as they are resilient, especially when it comes to taking advantage of new technologies and tools to help them improve cash flow and to help better manage their greatest assets—namely, their employees," said Anish Rajparia, President of ADP's Small Business Services, which serves more than 425,000 small business clients."We are proud of the fact that so many businesses turn to ADP for innovative HR, payroll and compliance solutions, which is why we are honored to support National Small Business Week events in Pittsburgh and across the country."
The SBA established National Small Business Week in 1963, and this year's celebration will mark the first time that it will have featured events in five cities, including Seattle (June 17), Dallas (June 18), St. Louis (June 19), Pittsburgh (June 20) and Washington, D.C. (June 21). ADP subject matter experts will be on hand at each event to help small business owners understand the implications of the Affordable Care Act as part of panel discussions in Dallas and St. Louis. The week will conclude in Washington, D.C., where ADP will lead a special session on preparing for the Affordable Care Act and understanding its implications for small businesses.
