Cybozu Garoon to run on Fujitsu's cloud, global roll out planned
Tokyo, June 20, 2013 - (JCN Newswire) - Fujitsu and Cybozu, Inc. jointly announced that they have reached an agreement to collaborate on providing Cybozu Garoon, Cybozu's enterprise groupware product, under the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model.
As a result of this agreement with Cybozu, Japan's number-one groupware company, Garoon will be made available beginning June 20, 2013 via Fujitsu's public cloud as an SaaS service to be formally known as "FUJITSU Business Application Cybozu Garoon SaaS" (Cybozu Garoon SaaS).
By offering the popular groupware package as SaaS, Fujitsu is seeking to further expand the use of its public cloud service. Furthermore, Fujitsu will help its customers tie their sales management and other existing systems into Cybozu Garoon SaaS. This work will be conducted to deliver an optimized system environment by leveraging experience Fujitsu has accumulated in constructing and operating system installations of the packaged edition of Garoon at more than 300 companies.
To expand Cybozu's services to worldwide markets, Fujitsu is planning to offer Garoon over its global public cloud service, available in six countries, enabling the delivery of a uniform, reliable service to global companies seeking to expand their presence in Asia and around the world.
To mark the launch of Cybozu Garoon SaaS, Fujitsu is running a campaign to discount 99% of initial setup fees, available until the end of December 2013.
About Cybozu Garoon SaaS
The packaged edition of Cybozu Garoon will be made available on Fujitsu's public cloud service to deliver an integrated service - Cybozu Garoon SaaS - covering everything from the infrastructure platform to groupware over the Internet. As a result, customers can quickly get groupware up and running without having to spend the time to set up a system or incur operating expenses. Additionally, the service can be customized for each customer's environment, with special functionality added as needed.
Integrating Cybozu Garoon SaaS to Existing Systems
Customers can consolidate existing internal systems needed for work onto Garoon's portal for use. This is intended to boost operational speed and user convenience by providing a central access point for all the various internal systems that may be located throughout a company. Fujitsu will also provide technical assistance to integrate each existing system's authentication mechanism and data records as well as a variety of groupware.

Future Plans
Moving forward, Fujitsu will offer customers optimal cloud environments through its Cloud Integration Service, which combines a variety of cloud services, including the Cybozu Garoon SaaS being announced today, and an array of groupware products. This is in contrast to cloud services that had up until now only been offered on a standalone basis.
By partnering with Fujitsu, which already has a well-developed network outside of Japan, Cybozu can help solve problems for the overseas affiliates of Japanese companies, which may lack system administrators. Cybozu also looks to reach beyond Japanese businesses abroad and work with non-Japanese global enterprises. The company plans to continue developing and offering new services.
About the Fujitsu Public Cloud Service
Fujitsu's public cloud service is available on a metered-rate basis and customized to suit each customer's requirements. It maintains the same high level of reliability as a company's own mission critical systems.
The service was first launched in eastern Japan and quickly developed a track record for service excellence in Japan. Availability has since expanded to six countries: the UK, US, Australia, Germany, and Singapore, in addition to Japan.
