DANBURY, CT -- (Marketwired) -- 06/24/13 -- As part of its ongoing commitment to its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, Cartus Corporation, a leading provider of global relocation services, announced that the company has become a signatory member of the United Nations Global Compact.

Additionally, Cartus has launched a microsite detailing its various global citizenship initiatives. To further its commitment to the health, safety, and welfare of its clients, employees and suppliers, Cartus recently released its Global Citizenship Report, which details its progress to date as a member of the UN Global Compact.

The United Nations Global Compact, inaugurated in 2000, is the world's largest voluntary corporate citizenship and sustainability initiative. The organization is made up of more than 10,000 business participants and other stakeholders from more than 130 countries.

Companies that have signed the United Nations Global Compact are expected to align their operations and strategies with 10 universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labor, the environment, and anti-corruption.

"Cartus' support for the United Nations Global Compact demonstrates our companywide commitment to conduct our business -- in all of our offices worldwide -- with the utmost respect for the Global Compact's universal principles," said Kevin Kelleher, CEO of Cartus.

Kelleher added, "As a direct result of our involvement with the United Nations Global Compact we are committed to expanding our efforts in several key areas, including people development, support for our communities, environmental stewardship, and supply chain management. Additionally, our parent company, Realogy, was named by Ethisphere Institute as one of the World's Most Ethical Companies -- a designation that Cartus takes seriously."

About the United Nations Global Compact
The UN Global Compact is a strategic policy initiative for businesses that are committed to aligning their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption. By doing so, business, as a primary driver of globalization, can help ensure that markets, commerce, technology and finance advance in ways that benefit economies and societies everywhere.

As social, political and economic challenges (and opportunities) -- whether occurring at home or in other regions -- affect business more than ever before, many companies recognize the need to collaborate and partner with governments, civil society, labor and the United Nations.
