DTZ Celebrates World Facilities Management Day on Global Scale

Events Designed to Share FM Best Practices and Key Learnings, Recognize Employee Contributions and Elevate the Facilities Management Profession

AUBURNDALE, Mass., June 27, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- In recognition of World Facilities Management Day ("World FM Day"), DTZ, a global leader in property services, is hosting a series of events at its various offices across the globe. The events, which range from education sessions sharing best practices with colleagues in other divisions and geographies to an onsite employee barbecue in its Boston office, are intended to highlight and recognize the facility management unit's contributions to the workplace.

"For DTZ, World FM Day reminds us to step back and take stock of the great work we are doing in the facility management space," said George Keches, President Global Facilities Management. "Since World FM Day's inception in 2008, we have taken this opportunity to reflect on what we accomplished and learned over the past year, to share those learnings with all of our colleagues and recognize our FM professionals for their tremendous contributions. This year's events reflect our expanded global footprint – now having a presence across Asia, the UK, Europe, Middle East and the Americas – which has transformed our ability to offer integrated end-to-end property service solutions."

Started by the Global Facility Management Association in 2008, World FM Day was created to raise the profile of the facilities management profession on a global scale. The global event mobilizes industry companies, associations, partners and individual professionals to celebrate successes and demonstrate the important contributions that facilities management brings to the built environment.

Highlights of DTZ initiatives taking place throughout the week include:

  • Henry Arundel – Chief Executive of DTZ Asia Pacific – will be participating on an expert panel discussion "Managing FM in a Global Environment" on June 28 at the FMA Australian World Expo in Melbourne, Australia.
  • DTZ technology group leaders will discuss best practices on new mobility/technology and LED lighting solutions during team information sessions in Sydney and Melbourne.
  • In Singapore, senior executives will be hosting an information session to discuss industry best practice and celebrate World FM Day.
  • Members of the Canberra, Australia office will be sharing insights gleaned from recent notable engagement where they provided performance maintenance services to a prominent Australian cultural landmark building.
  • In Boston, team members will enjoy a celebratory World FM Day barbecue.
  • In New Zealand, senior executives will be hosting staff town hall meetings to discuss industry best practices and celebrate World FM Day in Auckland, Hamilton and Wellington.
  • The Sydney office will host a videoconference session discussing facilities management operations trends and issues, as well as recent client case studies, with three DTZ offices in India.
