BEIJING, June 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Renren Inc. (NYSE: RENN) ("Renren" or the "Company"), a leading real name social networking internet platform in China, today announced that its board of directors has authorized a new share repurchase program.
Renren's board of directors has authorized, but not obligated, the Company to repurchase up to US$100 million of its own outstanding American Depositary Shares ("ADSs") within one year from June 28, 2013. This program replaces the previous $150 million program that was announced on September 29, 2011 and is close to be completed. Renren expects to implement this share repurchase program in a manner consistent with market conditions and the interest of its shareholders. Renren's board of directors will review the share repurchase program periodically, and may authorize adjustment of its terms and size. Renren plans to fund repurchases made under this program from its available cash balance.
"We continue to focus on our long-term strategy of building a sustainable business around mobile-centric social networking.
