Uranium stocks rallied Monday as shares of uranium supplier USEC Inc. unexpectedly soared as high as 161 percent. Analysts believe the rise was due to a combination of a short squeeze and recent victory for Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s Liberal Democratic Party in Japan. Prime Minister Abe, whose party is considered to be pro-nuclear, is expected to restart the nuclear reactors that were shut down as a result of the Fukushima disaster in 2011.

Cameco Corporation (NYSE: CCJ)(TSX: CCO) shares traded in the range of $21.24 to $22.08 Monday before settling to close at $21.98, an increase of 3.53 percent. The stock appears to be facing some resistance at $22.25 with some support at the $21.87 and $21.43 levels. Shares of Cameco have fallen approximately 39.4 percent in 2013.

Denison Mines Corp. (NYSEMKT: DNN)(TSX: DML) shares traded in the range of $1.22 to $1.35 Monday before settling to close at $1.32, an increase of 5.60 percent. The stock appears to be facing some resistance at the $1.36 and $1.47 levels with some support at $1.30. Shares of Denison Mines have gained approximately 5.6 percent in 2013.
