Laurentian Bank and the International Balloon Festival of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu Show their Innovativeness for the 30th Anniversary of the Event

MONTREAL, Aug. 9, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - To be held August 10-18, the 2013 edition of the International Balloon Festival of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu definitely promises to be an event not to be missed. This year, Laurentian Bank and the Festival will be presenting Les Nuits Magiques, an interactive show during which festivalgoers will have the chance to determine the course of the presentation simply by sharing the keyword #ExpeBL on the social media.

This highly colourful, entertaining, unifying and interactive presentation conceived by the Festival's Executive Director, Paul Thouin, is based on the age-old theme of man's dream of flying. The public is invited to be active participants in determining the direction of the action during the intermissions of the presentations on August 11, 12, 14 and 15. By sharing the keyword #ExpeBL on the Festival's mobile application, festivalgoers will have a say in how the show evolves. Those who have not downloaded the application will still be able to participate by manually entering the keyword via their personal Facebook, Twitter or Instagram accounts. The shared entries will be compiled and will have an influence on how the show unfolds at certain points along the way. The mobile application and all the details about this technological innovation — a first in the world of hot air ballooning — are available here.

A Great Opportunity to Meet the Pilots!
Visitors both young and old are sure to enjoy the wide range of activities to be offered on the Festival site. For example, Laurentian Bank is inviting festivalgoers to stop by its Little + area. They are also welcome to come meet the pilots and learn all about hot air ballooning during the Laurentian Bank Open Houses to be held on the launch field Monday through Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.

A Prime Spot for Bank Clients
The Bank is extending a special invitation to its clients attending the Festival. Simply by presenting their Laurentian Bank debit or VISA card, they will be able to gain access to the Laurentian Bank Lounge, a prime location from which to watch the balloons take flight, or to just relax with refreshments.

A Most Memorable 30th Edition
Having established their partnership eight years ago, Laurentian Bank and the International Balloon Festival of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu are sparing no effort to offer visitors a vibrant and memorable programme of activities to mark the Festival's 30th edition. Moreover, in order to really immortalize their experience, festivalgoers will be offered 30th anniversary souvenir cards, compliments of the Bank.
