MONTREAL, Aug. 12, 2013 /CNW/ - We are delighted to invite you to the
launch of the Guiding Stars program in Quebec. As part of its
commitment to empower customers to make healthier choices, Provigo, a
member of the Loblaw group, has launched the Guiding Stars program in 107 stores in Quebec.
Available in Loblaws®, Provigo Le MarchéTM and Provigo® banner stores, Guiding Stars is an impartial nutrition
navigation program that uses stars on store shelves to highlight
nutritious food choices at a glance. The program scores foods based on
a patented scientific algorithm and a points system, giving products a
rating from zero to three stars (with three stars being the highest
rating an item can receive). Foods are rated based on vitamins,
minerals, fibre, whole grains, omega-3s, saturated fat, trans fat,
added sodium and added sugar.
During this launch event, you will have the opportunity to discover the
program and enjoy dishes prepared with healthy foods. Moreover,
dietitian Nathalie Régimbal will guide you for a tour of the store to
learn how the program supports customers on their journey to living a
healthier lifestyle.
