VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - Aug. 29, 2013) - East Asia Minerals Corporation (TSX VENTURE:EAS) ("East Asia Minerals" or "the Company") announces that it has entered into an agreement with The GoodWater Company Pte Ltd. ("GoodWater") to establish a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program at its project on Sangihe Island in North Sulawesi, Indonesia.
The program will consist of installing water purification systems in the villages adjacent to the Company's Sangihe exploration site, with the goal of establishing a municipal water purification system that meets World Health Organization (WHO) standards.
"The Sangihe project is very important to East Asia Minerals and we are indebted to the local people who have shown strong support for our work there," said Ed Rochette, CEO of the Company. "This initiative is just one way we can give back to the community by assisting to improve their overall health and prosperity."
GoodWater is a Singapore-based organization that works with companies and Non-Government Organizations throughout Asia to provide safe drinking water systems to rural areas.
