Fujitsu takes a completely new look on scanning
Tokyo, Sept 2, 2013 - (JCN Newswire) - - Versatile: Scans bound or stapled documents, books and magazines up to A3 size as well as 3D objects
- Intuitive: Scans at the touch of a button or automatically whenever a page is turned
- Instantaneous: Simply place documents on a desk and press the button to process
Extensive software package: Adobe Acrobat, CardMinder and Rack2-Filer Smart are included
Fujitsu introduces the ScanSnap SV600, the first Fujitsu ScanSnap capable of contact-less scanning. Users simply place items on a desk to capture them. The scanner can digitise a great variety of objects: bound or stapled documents up to A3 size, such as notebooks, newspapers, catalogues, business cards, fragile originals, and objects up to 3 cm thick. This scanner even produces high-quality images of curved objects. The ScanSnap SV600 offers the simple, intuitive, one-button operation that is the hallmark of the ScanSnap series to a new level. Its continuous scanning feature allows it to automatically capture another image as soon as the page is turned. The new solution represents instant scanning in the truest sense of the word. All a user has to do is place one or more documents on the mat (included as standard equipment), press a button and the digital document is ready for use on a PC or Mac, in a cloud service, or via a smartphone or tablet, in just seconds.
Capture Multiple Documents with One Scan
The device digitises multiple documents or objects (Multi-Document Detection) in one scan. There is no need to arrange documents or objects on the mat. The scanner will automatically straighten and separate documents after capture.
New Perspective on Scanning
"The ScanSnap SV600 is in a class of its own and delivers a totally new perspective on scanning. Building on our proven scanning and image processing heritage via our ScanSnap concept, the SV600 brings a unique take on capture to market and is designed to make scanning fast, easy and intuitive", says Mike Nelson, General Manager Sales and Marketing for PFU Imaging Solutions Europe Ltd.
"The Fujitsu ScanSnap SV600 opens up a new world of possibilities to our customers. The number of applications is limited only by a user's imagination", explains Sofie Dheedene, ScanSnap Product Manager, at PFU Imaging Solutions Europe Ltd. "Whether on an office desk, in a copy shop or at a hotel reception, the newest member of the ScanSnap family makes it quick and easy to digitise all kinds of documents."
With the contact-free scanner users do not have to fuss with a scanner lid or spend time searching for the scan function. Nor do they have to wait around until the device boots up; it takes just three seconds for the ScanSnap SV600 to be ready to go to work. Three seconds later and the first scan is complete, whether it is an A3 document or a level 3D object, such as a printed circuit board for quality inspection.
More than scanning. The difference is in the software.
The ability to handle a wide variety of originals, intuitive operation and instant scanning are just a few of the features of the Fujitsu ScanSnap SV600. Its extensive software package is all about versatility and the scanner comes equipped with Adobe Acrobat, the CardMinder business card manager, and PFU's own Rack2-Filer Smart document manager. This digital "binder" manages documents as if a user was working with a binder on a shelf. Abbyy character recognition, the ScanSnap Organizer and the ScanSnap Manager are also included in the package. The latter permits transfer of documents directly to PDF, images, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, multiple cloud services such as Evernote, Dropbox, Google Docs, as well as to email, and a large number of other applications.
Produce your own electronic books or newspapers with Rack2-Filer Smart
The ScanSnap SV600 captures notebooks, newspapers and other bound or stapled documents in sizes up to A3 quickly and in top quality. Since the originals lie face up - in contrast to a flatbed scanner or copier - users can see the document while scanning, thus making it easier to avoid crooked, folded or covered pages. Two functions designed especially for digitizing bound originals and magazines now also enhance scan quality:
Book Image Correction automatically eliminates the distortions that occur when scanning an open book or a magazine.
Page Turning Detection makes for uninterrupted and efficient scanning. If desired, the scanner will continue automatically once a page has been turned
The new Rack2-Filer Smart "Easy Book Creation" function allows users to form scanned pages into an e-book or virtual magazine. The Rack2-Filer library may also be stored in either Dropbox or in a network so that co-workers, colleagues and eligible business partners can access documents at their convenience.
The perfect pair - ScanSnap SV600 and ScanSnap iX500
The ScanSnap SV600 and the ScanSnap iX500 are the ideal combination whenever efficient automatic document feed scanning is desired in conjunction with contact-free scanning. Users can connect both of these Fujitsu scanners to the same PC or Mac and scan originals from both devices into the same file without the need to merge them afterwards.
The new Fujitsu ScanSnap SV600 is compatible with both the Windows operating system and Mac OS. Windows software comes as standard equipment but Mac OS software is available for download so that devices without a DVD drive can be up and running in no time. The Fujitsu ScanSnap SV600 will be available at Fujitsu sales partners starting 2 September 2013. The recommended retail price is 580 GBP (EUR699, USD908) plus VAT.
