Mountain Region Records Strongest Job Growth Rate in August, Followed by South Atlantic and East South Central Regions
ROSELAND, NJ--(Marketwired - Sep 11, 2013) - Private sector employment increased in all nine U.S. Census Bureau Divisions during the month of August 2013, according to the monthly ADP Regional Employment Report(SM), which is produced by ADP®, a leading global provider of Human Capital Management (HCM) solutions, in collaboration with Moody's Analytics, Inc. Broadly distributed to the public each month, free of charge, the ADP Regional Employment Report measures monthly changes in regional nonfarm private employment on a seasonally adjusted basis.
"During the month of August, the Mountain region, which includes Arizona, Colorado, Nevada and Utah among other states, showed the strongest monthly private sector job growth rate among U.S. Census Bureau regions," said Ahu Yildirmaz, senior director of the ADP Research Institute®. "While growth held steady last month in a few large states, such as New York, Texas and Florida, California's monthly job growth rate weakened. Together, these four states and Illinois were responsible for generating more than a third of all new private sector jobs in August."
On September 5, 2013, the ADP National Employment Report® reported that total U.S. private sector employment increased by a total of 176,000 jobs from July to August.
