JUNO BEACH, Fla., Sept. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- NextEra Energy, Inc. will kick off its annual employee giving campaign on Sept. 16 to help communities located throughout the United States. In an effort to give employees more freedom of choice when giving back to their communities, NextEra Energy is launching its new iPledge, My Choice campaign to the nearly 15,000 employees working in 26 states.

iPledge, My Choice gives employees the freedom and convenience to donate to any nonprofit organization they choose using convenient automatic payroll deductions. NextEra Energy expects greater employee participation from across the nation and more money pledged as a result of this all-inclusive campaign.

NextEra Energy employees have a long history of generously donating to nonprofits. In 2012, NextEra Energy and its employees donated more than $8.1 million to nonprofit organizations, including United Way, American Red Cross and Komen Race for the Cure. The expansion of the company's annual iPledge employee giving campaign will provide employees the option to donate to any verified 501c3 organization of their choice.
