CoroWare Announces CoroBot Pro

COWI

Ohio State University Adopts Corobot Pro for Robotics Research Programs

Charlotte, NC, (Accesswire - September 16, 2013) - CoroWare Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of CoroWare, Inc. (OTCQB: COWI), announced today availability and pricing for the CoroBot Pro[TM], the most powerful member of the CoroBot family of smart unmanned ground vehicles (Smart UGV) and robotics development platforms for researchers and educators.

Robotics researchers are looking for affordable, flexible and capable platforms on which they can develop robotics concepts, applications and solutions. Most robotics development platforms in the industry lack powerful processors and sensors, and most smart unmanned ground vehicle platforms are typically unaffordable.

"The CoroBot Pro is an elegant and reliable robot platform that our students and research scientists shall be using for their research projects," said Dr. Alper Yilmaz, Associate Professor and Director of Photogrammetric Computer Vision Laboratory at the Ohio State University. "Without reservation, we would recommend CoroWare as a partner on future robotic needs to any university."

The CoroBot Pro expands CoroWare’s affordable and flexible robotics product line by offering a more powerful Intel i7 processor and supporting a wider range of sensor options, including the Point Grey Bumblebee[R] stereo vision camera, Microsoft Kinect sensor, and a wide variety of high definition webcams.

The CoroBot Pro is built upon a 4 wheel (4 drive motor) chassis and is available with either of two operating system options: Ubuntu Linux with Robot Operating System (ROS), or Microsoft[R] Windows 7 Professional for Embedded Systems.

"The CoroBot Pro further demonstrates CoroWare’s continued commitment to delivering the most open, affordable and flexible autonomous mobile robots platform for researchers and educators worldwide," said Joe Daziel, Vice President of CoroWare. "We are delighted that Ohio State University has adopted the CoroBot Pro for their research, and look forward to working with their researchers to help them achieve their research objectives."

The CoroBot Pro is also available a robotic arm that is capable of moving up to five degrees of freedom and lifting up 800 grams. The CoroBot Pro chassis is water resistant and can be mounted with additional hardware components and allows researchers and developers to modify and customize each robot to meet specific requirements.

Pricing and Availability
The CoroBot Pro is available today with a list price that starts at US $6,995 depending on choice of chassis, sensor, and robot arm configurations. For a complete list of CoroBot Pro features, specifications and pricing, please visit http://robotics.coroware.com/pro.
