Itron, Inc. (NASDAQ:ITRI) announced today that it has been ranked number
one across multiple categories in a new global water meter market
analysis report. The ranking, published by IMS Research, solidifies
Itron as a preferred partner for utilities worldwide for metering and
communication technologies. The IMS report, an annual assessment of
global water meter sales, notes that Itron has the leading position
globally for total water meter and communication module shipments. Itron
is also ranked a top supplier across a number of smart water metering
categories in Latin America, EMEA and North America.
The World Market for Water Meters—2013 Edition, authored by
Nicole Tuggle, estimates Itron to hold a 10 percent share of demand for
Total Water Meter unit shipments. Once again, Itron’s reliable water
metering technology is shipped to more customers around the world than
any other meter supplier.
“We feel honored to again be recognized by IMS as the leading supplier
of water meters and communication modules,” said Gavin van Tonder,
president of Itron’s water business. “We take our leadership position
seriously. Water is an essential resource and one that is becoming
increasingly scarce. Our commitment is always to use our expertise to
offer innovative solutions that will effectively help worldwide water
resource challenges for our customers.”
As a global leader in water resource management, Itron’s high-end
