The New York Times today debuts the first interactive advertising unit
on the NYTimes.com homepage to host a live Webcast of a New York Times
conference.
Viewers can watch today’s “Schools
for Tomorrow” conference, which focuses on the rise of virtual
higher education, live from 7:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. ET by clicking the
video stream hosted within Bank of America’s NYTimes.com
ad unit. Viewers can start, stop and revisit the live Webcast any time
throughout the duration of the conference.
Bank of America is the first advertiser to host a live Webcast of a New
York Times conference within its ad unit.
The New York Times, along with design and advertising agency Pickle
Group, worked with Bank of America to develop the ad unit.
“We work closely with our partners to create unique experiences for our
highly engaged audience on NYTimes.com,” said Meredith Kopit Levien,
executive vice president, advertising, The New York Times. “This latest
innovation, designed with Bank of America, brings our journalism to life
with a front-row seat for viewers to experience our annual education
conference, all within an ad unit.”
“It's only fitting that a discussion on the rise of virtual education is
shared in a unique virtual environment,” said Meredith Verdone,
enterprise marketing executive, Bank of America. “Streaming content
that’s important to us by utilizing an existing advertising relationship
makes sense on multiple fronts, and aligns with our business goals with
The Times’s evolving ad platform.”
